What is the permissible temperature range for oil pump bearings? How to maintain bearing temperature?

As a key transmission component in an oil pump motor, the bearing must withstand axial and radial loads while maintaining rotational speed. Inevitably, the bearing will generate heat, resulting in a certain temperature rise. However, as long as the temperature is controlled within a suitable range, there is no need to worry excessively. So, what is the normal operating temperature range?

Oil Pump Bearing Temperature Range.

Generally, the normal operating temperature range for oil pump bearings is between 40℃ and 80℃. The bearing temperature will vary depending on different operating conditions and structures. Under normal operating conditions, the bearing temperature will not exceed 80℃. If the temperature continues to rise above 90℃, it indicates a possible abnormality in the transmission system, requiring immediate inspection.

How to maintain oil pump bearing temperature?

1. Use suitable bearings. Based on the load, speed, and other operating conditions of the oil pump motor bearings, select the appropriate bearing type. For hydraulic oil pumps with axial loads, it is recommended to use precision angular contact ball bearings. This can meet the operating requirements of the oil pump motor and reduce temperature rise issues.

2. Ensure adequate lubrication. Oil pump bearings require proper lubrication. Selecting the appropriate grease and ensuring proper filling volume are crucial for forming a stable lubricating film and reducing frictional heat generation. Regular maintenance and timely inspection and replacement are also essential during use.

3. Ensure proper installation of the oil pump bearings, paying particular attention to the fit clearance. Insufficient clearance increases contact stress and leads to severe frictional heat generation. Excessive clearance affects fit accuracy; both must be controlled within a reasonable range.

4. Optimize the cooling system. While oil pump bearing heat generation is unavoidable, a well-regulated cooling system can remove excess heat, maintaining a stable operating temperature.

5. Monitor oil pump operating conditions. Avoid prolonged overloading of the bearings. Exceeding speed or load limits will cause overheating and, in severe cases, shorten bearing lifespan.

The operating temperature of oil pump motor bearings ranges from 40 to 80 degrees Celsius, depending on operating conditions. Regularly check the bearing temperature and maintain a temperature monitoring log. This allows for timely detection and rapid intervention of temperature anomalies, minimizing losses due to bearing failure.
